Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow Review

Posted on March 21, 2012

Snoring is usually caused by an obstruction in the airways due to an improper sleeping position. When improper sleeping position is corrected, then there is a great chance for snoring to be reduced if not totally treated. That is the reason why sleep scientists made anti snoring pillows, to help a person maintain a desired sleeping position to help in reducing snoring during sleep. Anti snoring pillows are generally designed to support the sleeper’s head and neck for proper alignment, thus resulting in an obstruction-free airway, which can promote proper breathing. Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow is one of the many kinds of anti snoring pillow that claims to be effective in treating snoring.

What is Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow?

The Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow is a type of anti snoring pillow that encourages a person to sleep with their head on the side, rather than laying their head on their back. Having the head positioned on its back while sleeping can most likely cause a person to snore, and if a person sleeps on his or her side, or just laying his or her head on the side can help in reducing snoring or even totally eliminating the snoring problem.

How Does the Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow Work?

The pillow comes with an elevated panel that is purposely designed to gently and slightly shift the head to the side, even if you are sleeping on a supine position or on your back. This can help in reducing airway obstruction, thus it can reduce or even totally treat snoring. This pillow was designed for back sleepers.

Product Features:

  • Decreases chance of the soft palate and the tongue obstructing airflow reducing snoring in back sleepers
  • Decreases morning pain and stiffness resulting from poor neck support
  • Assist in the relief of neck pain, shoulder tension and associated headaches
  • Composed of dense, hypoallergenic memory foam and has luxurious comfort and firm support
  • Pillow protector included

Extracts of Positive Comments:

“I can’t believe that I am actually writing a review but after reading the first review for this product, I had to put my 5 cents in: This pillow is great. It really works! Everyone snores around me. Since I am a light sleeper I’ve spent many nights kicking the person next to me. We didn’t like the pillow at first because it was too hard and too high. It took a little while to get used to it. However, now that we are used to it, we fight over this pillow. will buy at least two more. No more snoring in my house. =0) I know my pillows…Spend plenty of money looking for the right pillow. I have 2 tempur-pedic pillows in different sizes, very expansive dawn pillows and bunch of other hyper allergenic pillows.

The only thing I don’t like about this pillow is that the zipper on the pillow cover broke after less than 10 washes.”

Extracts of Negative Comments:

“This did not work for an averaged-size man who sleeps on his back because it was too uncomfortable/hard. (I’m guessing that it may work for people who are heftier, are 5′ 10″ or taller and/or who have larger heads AND like a denser pillow.) The pillow is rather high at 5″, but more important, the foam has very little give. Even after two weeks of use, it did not mold to user’s head. The pillow is definitely not as soft as other memory foam products we’ve purchased. Ironically, it sort of stopped the snoring because it made it difficult for the person to fall asleep. We were willing to take the risk of purchasing this (not returnable), but unfortunately cannot use it.”

“Does not really work. Foam is very stiff and difficult to get used to. I tried it for a week and never really got comfortable. I would have lived with it if it stopped snoring, it might have made it a little better, but not enough to live with the stiff neck. Oh, and it is really expensive for what you get.”

Extracts of Comments from Online Forums:

Extracts of Positive Comments:

“My husband snores and I’ve found an anti snoring pillow to be of great benefit. There are other products available, you just need to find the one(s) that work best for you.”

“I usually dont leave reviews of products I bought, but after reading the first review here I needed to put in my two cents. This anti-snore pillow works great for me. I am a very light sleeper and I get woken up very easily by the snorers in my family who sleep around me. At first we didn’t like this pillow because it is not as soft as a regular pillow and is quite thick. However, after some getting used to, my family constantly fights over who gets to sleep with it at night. This pillow is a little more expensive than the other alternatives, but it works the best out of all the ones I have tried so far.”

Extracts of Negative Comments:

“I am a snorer. At first this pillow worked great. But after 7 months, it has flattened out, so it doesn’t cause my head to roll to one side anymore. Therefore, it no longer works. It didn’t last very long considering that it cost $90.00.”

Review Final Verdict on Obus Forme Anti-Snore Pillow:

If you are a side sleeper, then this pillow may not be suitable for you. The Obus Forme Anti-Snore pillow is not any ordinary pillow, which needs more time before getting comfortable in using it for sleep.
