Trigger Causes First To Get Rid Of Sleep Apnea

There are several people who are currently battling with the issues of sleep apnea and it is quite prevalent disorder these days. Along with causing sleepless nights, it allows several deadly disorders to enter in the patient’s life. So, if you suffer from this disorder and do not want to get other critical disorders, then get treatment right away. For treating or eliminating this disorder from root, you have to first learn different causes by which sleep apnea occurs. Triggering those causes, one can surely win the battle with sleep apnea and can live up a quality life.

Anatomy For Sleep Apnea

When one awakes, the muscles of the throat help keeping airway hard and open by which air gets flow smoothly in lungs. On other side, when one sleeps, these muscles get into relaxing condition by which throat gets narrow and air cannot flow in proper way. This narrow throat prevents air to properly flow in and out to lungs and when one suffers from sleep apnea, this airway becomes fully or sometimes partially blocked by which one encounters with several small pauses in breathing. This blockage also has several reasons which you can learn below:

  • When sleeping, throat muscles or tongue gets too much relaxed than normal people.
  • When tonsils or tongue are larger than opening windpipe.
  • Overweight is also one of the reasons that block the airway or throat. Obesity generally produces excess amount of soft tissue which hardens the windpipe walls. This way, the windpipe internally gets narrow and it becomes difficult to keep throat open.
  • Neck and head shape sometime can cause narrow airway size from throat area and mouth.
  • Aging is another big reason that contributes to narrow or block the airway. The process of aging mostly limits the ability of brain signals for keeping throat muscles hard while sleeping. Ultimately it causes airway collapse.

Various Causes Behind Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Health experts have categorized sleep apnea in different types and obstructive sleep apnea is a common one.  Different types of sleep apnea consist to different causes. In obstructive sleep apnea, muscles of back throat gets completely into relaxing position and ultimately, the airway gets closed or sometimes narrowed. With such narrow throat when one breathes, it causes trouble to that person. The condition can reduce oxygen level in blood and as its result; the brain feels inability in breathing. In such condition, the patient gets roused from sleep to reopen the collapsed airway. So, the internal structure is a main cause of obstructive sleep apnea.

Central Sleep Apnea & Its Causes

This is not a common sleep apnea type. It occurs at times when human brain stops transmitting various signals to breathing muscles. It causes shortage of breathe and also difficulty while sleeping. The common cause of central sleep apnea is sometimes stroke and heart failure. Generally, the patients with this type of sleep apnea forget to wake up and reopen the airway from sleep.
