REVIEW: Fake Respironics Premium Chin Strap

The snoring device called “Respironics Premium Chin Strap” is supposed to be produced by the company Respironics, but it can be found to be a cheap made copy, but this is not necessarily a bad thing because it gives the people a very cheap option for a snoring chin strap and if it works then great. This fake one is being sold at a very cheap price ($3.99-$5.23 at the time of writing this review), which would already suggest that given enough positive information then those people looking for solutions for snoring should give this a try, however, let’s look in this review at the various aspects of this snoring chin strap and see what it’s all about.

Few words on features

To begin with I’d like to point out that I was surprised to see any features at all for this low of a price. Usually snoring chin straps at this price have just their basic design. Nothing fancy, but still, there is a different type of a design (vertical vs. horizontal pressure) and a chin cup is integrated to make it more comfortable holding the chin area, which is a very nice feature to have. There is also possibility for adjustments. So, as mentioned, there is nothing fancy, but for this price still pleasant to see.

Buyer feedback intro

There were 50 reviews of this snoring solution during my research and interestingly the feedback was very mixed. Roughly speaking half of the people supported the product and the other half did not. Already here I can see that the product did work because it has such a limited purpose that if it did not work then nobody would be happy. But let’s look closer:

All in all, 26 out of 50 buyers supported this snoring chin strap, which is a respectable amount of people and, as I mentioned, since chin straps made for snoring have such a basic design and purpose then they either work or not and here we can see that this one does work.

Negative feedback on the chin strap

• NOT RESPIRONICS BRAND– Avalon Air Copy — Not same quality
• (generally a lot of comments about it being not the real Respironics brand)
• it just wouldn’t stay in place on my chin
• This chin strap is poor quality

All in all, 16 out of 50 buyers rated this snoring chin strap 1 star out of 5 and a lot of it was due to the rage of it being a fake Respironics chin strap and not a real one.

Final results on the review of this snoring chin strap

So what we saw in our investigation was a fake brand production of a snoring chin strap, but at a very low price and we also saw roughly 50% of the people actually happy with it while the other group of people complained a lot about it being fake.

So looking objectively on this snoring chin strap:

• Concerning the quality of materials on this fake Respironics Premium Chin Strap we have mixed signals from some people being happy while others said it was bad quality. However, given the price it was sold at this kind of issue would be very predictable so for this I neither want to give a red flag nor a green flag.
• Regarding the general design of the chin strap there were some clear complaints about it not being able to fit properly and falling off. However it was also pointed out by one of the happy buyers that if you place it the way it is supposed to then there would not be any problems. So again, a complete dummy proof design can not be expected for $5 so I will not give a red flag for this either. With some instructions reading and effort of installing it properly it does seem to do its job.
• The fake Respironics Premium Chin Strap does indeed work exactly as it is supposed to by theory as a jaw support should, so here it gets a green flag for doing what it is supposed to
• Lastly, the price: between $4 and $5 it is not just cheap, but it is almost free, especially when compared to other snoring solutions. So a very big green flag for that.

To conclude, with one and a half green flags and no red flag, we can conclude that anybody can surely buy and test this and if it doesn’t work then you have yourself a kitchen towel. As for recommendation I would suggest either to try this if you are short of money or, since snoring chin straps are still quite cheap I would suggest to buy one with a higher quality.
